Currency
The Japanese currency is the yen. Bills come in 1,000 yen, 2,000 yen (very rare), 5,000 yen and 10,000 yen denominations. Coins come in 1 yen, 5 yen, 10 yen, 50 yen, 100 yen and 500 yen denominations.
- You can exchange foreign currency at:
- Banks, Post offices, Major hotels (limited currencies) and Licensed money changers at international airports and city centers.
ATMs for Foreign Cards
- Many Japanese ATMs do not accept international cards, but these places do:

Travel Tips
Keep some cash handy for buses, temples, small shops, or countryside areas.
IC cards like Suica or PASMO can be used for trains, buses, convenience stores, and vending machines.
Temperature in Chiba
Generally, be refreshingly worm in all season with few rainy days. Perfect weather for taking a walk around and watching sunset with Mt. Fuji across Tokyo Bay.

Transportation
